A ute and a crew for the one thing you can't fit in the car
Plenty of moving jobs aren't moves at all. You've bought a couch on Facebook Marketplace in Buderim and you live in Caloundra. A sideboard from Gumtree needs collecting before the seller leaves on Saturday. Your mum is giving you her dining table. That's what a single item pickup is for: one booking, a ute at your door, and someone who carries it in for you.
It's one of the most common jobs we do. Across more than 6,300 Sunshine Coast jobs since January 2024, beds and mattresses, dining tables and chairs, fridges, washing machines, couches and TVs are the items that come up again and again,.
Single item prices
Single items are priced as a minimum charge on our hourly rates, so a quick pickup and drop stays cheap, and a longer trip is simply billed for the time it takes.

If a job runs over the estimate, extra time is billed in 15-minute blocks. You pay on completion and there are no fuel or booking fees. Saturdays are done by our truck crew on the Sunshine Coast at weekday prices x1.5. All rates are on the prices page.
One removalist or two?
The question is simple: can someone help lift? If you'll be at the drop-off and can take one end, one removalist with a ute is usually enough, and it's the cheaper option. If nobody can help, or the item is heavy or going up stairs, book two. A fridge, a big modular lounge or a marble-top table is a two-person job no matter how keen you are. What we move most often
- Beds and mattresses, the most common item across all our jobs
- Dining tables and chairs, often solid timber and heavier than they look
- Fridges, washing machines and dryers, moved upright and strapped
- Couches and lounges, from two-seaters to modular suites
- TVs and boxes, for small moves and student moves

Marketplace and Gumtree pickups
Buying second-hand is where a man with a ute earns his keep. To make the pickup go smoothly:
- Confirm the size. Ask the seller for measurements, and check it fits through your front door and hallway.
- Agree a pickup window. Give us the seller's address and the times they're home.
- Ask about access. Is it upstairs? Is there parking out front? It changes how many people we send.
- Tell the seller we're coming. So they know a Pickup Pals crew will knock on the door.
If you've bought more than one thing, or have a pickup in Maroochydore and another in Nambour, we can often do both in one run. It's priced on the time, so a couple of stops on the way is usually cheaper than two separate bookings.
Deliveries and drop-offs
It works the other way too. Sold something and the buyer has no way to get it home? Helping a family member downsize and passing on the spare bed? Moving a single piece of furniture between houses? It's the same booking: we pick up, we drive, we carry it in and put it where it's going. Fridges travel upright and strapped.
When it's going to the tip, not a new home

More than a single item?
Once it's half a room or more, look at furniture removals by the hour, or house moves from $599 for two bedrooms. We run two utes and an Isuzu truck, so the job gets the vehicle it needs and you don't pay for a truck to carry one armchair.
Across the Coast and up to North Lakes
We do single item runs anywhere on the Sunshine Coast, from Caloundra and Kawana up through Maroochydore, Buderim and Nambour to Coolum, Peregian and Noosa. We also take Brisbane north jobs around North Lakes. A pickup at one end of the Coast and a drop at the other is fine; it just takes longer, and the price follows the time.
