Pickup Pals is a Sunshine Coast business. We started on the Coast in 2023 and most of our work is still there. We also take jobs in Brisbane's north and the Moreton Bay area, and North Lakes sits right in the middle of that patch. If you're in North Lakes, Mango Hill, Kallangur, Dakabin, Murrumba Downs, Griffin, Petrie or around Redcliffe, our crew can do your furniture move, house move or single-item pickup on a weekday.

We'd rather be upfront than oversell it. North Lakes is a newer area for us, and we haven't done anything like the volume here that we have on the Coast. What you get is the same rate card and the same way of pricing that has earned us a 5.0 rating on Google from Sunshine Coast customers.

Weekdays only in North Lakes

Our Brisbane north and Moreton Bay work runs Monday to Friday. Saturday moves aren't available in North Lakes or the rest of Brisbane. We only offer Saturdays on the Sunshine Coast, with our truck crew. Weekday slots are often available within a few days, so tell us your preferred day and we'll find the nearest one that works. If your lease ends on a weekend, the Friday before is usually the easiest option.

North Lakes removalist prices

We use the same rates in North Lakes as we do on the Coast. Everything is priced by the hour, and we estimate the loading, the drive and the unloading with you before anything is booked. That estimate is your quote.

If the job takes longer than the estimate, extra time is billed in 15-minute blocks. You pay when the job is done, and there are no fuel or booking fees. A single item starts from $109 with one removalist, or $209 if it needs two people. See the prices page for the full card.

Moving in a newer suburb

North Lakes, Mango Hill and Griffin are mostly newer estates, with family homes, townhouses and some apartments. Access is generally straightforward, but a few things help us get the estimate right:

• Parking. Estate streets can be narrow, and kerb space fills up quickly with residents' cars. Tell us if the truck may need to park a little away from the door.
• Townhouse complexes. Shared driveways, visitor bays and internal stairs all add time. Let us know the layout and any complex rules about moving.
• Two-storey homes. If bedrooms are upstairs, say so. Beds, dressers and wardrobes coming down a staircase need two people.
• Item list. The more complete it is, the closer your price on the day will be to your quote.

Older streets in Petrie, Kallangur and Redcliffe

Not everywhere in the area is new. Petrie, Kallangur and the Redcliffe peninsula have established streets with older houses, some highset with stairs at the front, and older unit blocks without lifts. If that's your place, tell us how many steps there are and whether there's a lift. It changes the crew size we'd recommend, and with it the price.

One removalist or two?

For a single couch from Marketplace, a bed frame or a few boxes, one removalist with a ute at $104 an hour is usually the cheapest way to do it, especially if you can help at one end. For a fridge, a front-loader, a two-storey home or a full house of furniture, two removalists at $207 an hour get through it in far less time and with less risk, so the total often ends up close. Describe the job when you ask for a quote and we'll recommend whichever works out cheaper for you.

What people usually move

Across our bookings, the same items come up again and again, and North Lakes is no different:

Old furniture and rubbish

If there's furniture you don't want to take, we can drop it at a local tip on the same trip. In this area that means the Dakabin Waste Management Facility on Old Gympie Road, the Caboolture Waste Management Facility on McNaught Road or the Redcliffe Waste Transfer Station on Duffield Road, Clontarf, whichever suits the route.
