Our busiest suburb for moves

A lot of that moving never leaves the suburb. The most common Maroochydore move we do starts and finishes in Maroochydore: a unit near the river to a house, one rental to the next, or someone downsizing closer to the shops and the beach. When people do leave, they mostly head to Buderim, Sippy Downs, Alexandra Headland, Kunda Park, or up the coast to Coolum Beach.

Apartment and unit moves

Maroochydore has more apartment buildings than most of the Coast, and a unit move runs differently to a house move. The truck often can't park at the front door, the lift is shared with other residents, and every piece travels down a corridor before it goes anywhere near the ute. None of that is a problem, it just takes time, and time is what you pay for. So the more we know before the day, the more accurate your price.

• Book the lift if your building allows it. Many body corporates let you reserve a lift or hang protective covers for a move. Ask your building manager a few days ahead.
• Work out where we can park. A loading bay or a visitor space near the lift saves a lot of walking with heavy furniture.
• Measure the big pieces. A couch that went up in a lift years ago may have gone in before the doors were changed. Thirty seconds with a tape measure avoids a surprise.
• Tell us the floor and any stairs. It changes how long the load takes, so it goes straight into the estimate.

What a Maroochydore move costs

We charge by the hour, and we work out the hours with you before anything is booked. You tell us what's moving and what the access is like at both ends. We estimate the loading time, the drive and the unloading time, and that becomes your quote.

One removalist or two?

For a single armchair, a bed frame or a handful of boxes, one removalist and a ute is usually the cheaper way to go, especially if you can help carry at one end. Once there's a fridge, a solid timber table or a full lounge suite in the mix, two removalists get through it faster and with less risk to your walls and your furniture. What Maroochydore customers move

Getting rid of things while you move

Moving out of a unit is a good moment to stop carrying around the things you never use. We can take unwanted furniture and boxes to the Buderim Transfer Station on Syd Lingard Drive on the same trip as your move. Before the crew arrives

A little preparation keeps an hourly job short. Have boxes packed and taped, beds stripped, and drawers either emptied or taped shut. If the dining table legs unscrew, take them off the night before. Leaving a rental? Keep the cleaning gear in one spot so it doesn't end up on the ute. And have someone at each end who knows where everything is going.
