Fridges and washing machines are everyday jobs for us
Fridges, washing machines and dryers are on the short list of items we handle most, right behind beds and mattresses and dining tables. That's across more than 6,300 jobs on the Sunshine Coast since January 2024. Nambour jobs lean towards fridges, washing machines and dryers more than any other suburb we work in.
Whether it's a dead beer fridge in the garage, a chest freezer nobody uses, or a washer and dryer left behind when you moved in, we carry it out and take it away. If the fridge still works and just needs to go somewhere else, we move it for you instead.
Whitegoods removal prices
Removal is a service fee for the crew and the ute, plus the tip fee at cost. The tip fee is what the transfer station charges on the day, passed on with no markup.

All removal prices are plus the tip fee at cost, inc GST, paid on completion. No fuel or booking fees. Saturdays are worked by our truck crew on the Sunshine Coast at weekday prices x1.5, and there's no rubbish removal on Sundays. See every rate on the prices page.
One person or two?
Most full-size fridges are a two-person lift, and that's what we'll recommend for a big fridge, any fridge on stairs, or a front loader full of water. A bar fridge, a small freezer or a top loader on the ground floor can often be done by one removalist, especially if you can give a hand at the ute. Tell us the model or send a photo when you book and we'll say which price applies. If you're unsure, two people is the safer booking for anything taller than you.

- Washing machines, top loaders and front loaders
- Dryers, wall-mounted or freestanding once they're off the wall
- Dishwashers, microwaves and ovens that have already been disconnected
The second fridge is a classic. Many Sunshine Coast garages have an old fridge or freezer humming away that nobody really needs. If it's still working, someone may want it, and we can deliver it to them as a single item move. If it's dead, it's a $109 or $209 removal plus the tip fee at cost.
Before we arrive
- Empty it. Clear out food and shelves so nothing slides around in transit.
- Defrost the freezer. Switch it off the day before so it isn't dripping on the way down the hall.
- Disconnect the washer. Turn off the taps and unhook the hoses, and drain out what you can.
- Clear the path. Move anything between the appliance and the front door, and tell us about steps or a narrow laundry.
Moving a fridge, not dumping it
A working fridge going to your new place, to family, or to someone who bought it on Marketplace is a furniture job, not rubbish. There's no tip fee. We move fridges upright and strapped in the ute or the truck, the way they should travel. A single item move starts from $109 with one removalist or $209 with two, and longer moves are priced by the hour at $104 or $207. See single item pickups and furniture removals for more.
Moving the whole house? The fridge, washer and dryer travel with everything else on a house move, and the old appliances you're not keeping can go to the tip on the same day.
Where old whitegoods go
Each load goes to the transfer station nearest the job: Buderim Transfer Station on Syd Lingard Drive, Caloundra Transfer Station on Pierce Avenue, Nambour Transfer Station on Cooney Road, Noosa Transfer Station on Eumundi Noosa Road at Doonan, or the Beerwah Resource Recovery Centre on Roberts Road. Brisbane north jobs around North Lakes go to Dakabin, Caboolture or Redcliffe. Charges for appliances vary by site and change over time, so we pass on whatever the tip charges rather than quote a fixed figure. Our tip fees guide has more.
Clearing out the whole kitchen or laundry?
If the fridge is part of a bigger clean-out, a ute load is usually better value than paying per item. Old microwaves, a broken dishwasher, the laundry trolley and bags of rubbish can all go together.
